NOTE: The Window Rocket installs under the driver side kick panel for all 80 series Land Cruisers. Vehicles with ABS brakes will mount the Window Rocket to their ABS computer. Vehicles without ABS will mount the Window rocket to studs under the driver's kick panel. If you have a Left Hand Drive 80 series with manual transmission and ABS brakes these options will not work for you. Please message us as we do have a custom solution for you.

As an 80 series owner you know the struggle- Windows requiring help to go up when it's cold. Giving the windows a rest on their way up. Lubricating the window runs again and again to keep them functional. 

80 series windows weren't great when they were new 30 years ago. Even when you install new Toyota window runs and motors in all your doors, at several hundred dollars per door, your windows will still be slow. 80 series windows are considered good if they roll up. 

The Window Rocket fixes 80 series power window shortcomings and increases reliability. It installs without any modification to your vehicle in about 15 minutes.

How does the Window Rocket work?

The window motors in an 80 series suffer from low voltage. The resistance through the power window relay, switches, connections and wires limit the voltage making it to the motors. In testing, we've measured window motor voltage as low as 8 volts. The Window Rocket replaces the power window relay. Using a 40 amp relay to pass the necessary current, then boosting the voltage several volts with a special module ensuring the window motors get the 14 volts they were designed to run on.

The proper voltage not only means the windows move faster, it means the motors draw less current. Creating less heat in the motors, switches and wires. In addition to the electrical parts working more effectively, the window mechanicals improve as well.

The stiction between the glass and window seals requires more energy to overcome at slower speeds. The faster speed of the glass with a Window Rocket installed lowers the forces on the window mechanism, lowering the motor current. All the parts in the power window system have an easier life.
