NOTE: This version of the Trail Truss is tested to fit LHD 1FZ powered 80 series. 

The 80 series 4x4 chassis is legendary, but 30+ years takes a toll. Many 80 series frames have developed frame cracks around the steering box and panhard mounting areas. 35in and larger tires aggravate this issue further.

The frame area that supports the steering box and panhard mounting has a 1.25" diameter tubular crossmember connecting it to the passenger side frame. 

The Trail Truss replaces the 1.25" tubular steering crossmember with a substantially heavier crossmember of 3/8" thick laser cut A36 steel. It bolts to existing holes in the passenger frame rail and attaches directly to the steering box on the driver side. It forms an incredibly strong steel triangle from passenger frame rail, to steering box, to where the panhard bar bolts up. 

With the trail Truss installed your frame will not crack from steering forces. Handling improves from the added frame rigidity.

This kit requires welding the parts together so they conform precisely to your frame. The original tubular steering crossmember must be cut and partially removed to install the Trail Truss. The Trail Truss is completely removable when unbolted allowing uninhibited access to the bottom of the engine/oil pan.

The Trail Truss has limited clearance to the front of the diff housing on full suspension compression with factory bump stop height. Be prepared to check clearance on stock height vehicles.
